It seems that I love reading and end up buying so many books that I can’t finish them, resulting in a pile of unread books on my desk, known as “tsundoku.” Similarly, I enjoy building plastic models, and if I buy more models than I can construct, I end up with a mountain of unopened boxes, referred to as “tsumipura.” In my case, I feel that if I start building models now, I would completely neglect my job, so even stacking boxes feels daunting. I hold back and occasionally search for modeling sites to distract my model-building desires.

For someone like me who wants to build models but lacks the energy and courage to create a pile of plastic models, the current situation on Instagram, where images and videos of models are flooding in, is somewhat of a paradise. Talented modelers from around the world are showcasing their works in various aspects.

Speaking of model-related content on social media, the first thing that caught my eye was the works of incredibly skilled diorama modelers. While searching for inspiration for background art for an animation I was involved in, I stumbled across these posts by searching for terms like “craft” and “landscape.” This led me to follow such posts somewhat aimlessly.
